I know we are all guilty of curiosity about how celebrities live their lives but in your case I don't think it was necessary for the interviewer to try and discuss a subject you'd already told him was off limits. I'm so glad you handled it the way you did and that you were happy with the end result. Period. Full stop. No one is owed an explanation or confession of your personal life. You write fiction. They all need to remember that. As for intolerance? I have to tell you that I've encountered more of it from gays and readers of same sex fiction than I have in the het and het reader community, which is very, very sad. I have a lot of gay friends. People I love dearly. None of them are that narrow-minded. No one is owed any explanations of your life, Blake. No one has a right to even be thinking about your sex life. Unless they are having sex with you or you openly choose to share it with them. If they want to be judgmental about the fact that you won't talk about it, then you've made the right decision NOT to talk about it. Because frankly, think how horrid they would be about your sexual practices (no matter how mundane or wild they might be) if they can be so judgmental about your silence. Your life, Blake.
